Safety Patrol

Safety Patrol Expectations

Our safety patrol at Dove Elementary is offered to 5th grade students who will provide a service to our school by helping students arrive safely, being helpful and courteous to parents and students, and keep traffic moving efficiently. We consider it a privilege to serve on the Safety Patrol Team. Areas where you can be assigned a duty are in the front car line opening car doors, greeting parents and students, at the front crosswalk, at the bus circle opening car doors, monitoring K-2 students in the cafeteria and walking them to their classroom. Some duties may require you holding hallway doors open. If you are monitoring in the halls, you are simply to remind students that they need to go to either the cafeteria or gym, and not go to class until the bell rings.

Please plan to arrive at school by 7:15 each day to perform your scheduled duty. During the training for safety patrol you will receive your rotation schedule. Your attendance and your performance in class determine your participation in safety patrol. We expect safety patrol members to model the kind of behavior we want from all Dove students.
