
The Book Character Parade will be held October 27th! Costumes must be school appropriate and represent a character from a book. Each student will need to have a copy of the book their character is in. There are so many options in the library! Please start planning now to make sure the book your student needs is available!

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced a temporary delay in the release of 2023 A-F accountability ratings for all districts and campuses across the State of Texas. The ratings were originally scheduled for release on September 28 and will now be delayed by approximately one month, according to the TEA’s press release.

Raptor visitor management system is experiencing a system-wide service interruption. The vendor is working to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. Free and Reduced Lunch Applications - Deadline September 27th
The grace period for receiving breakfast and lunch on last year's free and reduced status will end on September 27th. If you have not completed the application for the 23-24 school year by the 27th you will no longer receive free or reduced priced meals.
Please visit www.nlappscloud.com to complete this application for the 23-24 school year before 9/27/23. We'd love to help you with this matter so your child(ren) does not lose their free or reduced lunch status. Please join us for our first Parent Tech Academy of the school year at the Professional Development & Education Center (PDEC) on September 20th at 6:30 p.m. The technology department will discuss apps that parents use, such as Canvas, Skyward, Lightspeed and Seesaw. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about each app and how they can stay better informed about their child. #WeAreGCISD

Dove Campus Excellence Committee
The Dove Campus Excellence Committee (CEC) is a site based decision committee that meets regularly to discuss campus initiatives, plans for improvement, and progress made towards goals. The committee, which meets after school five times a year, is comprised of teaching staff, non-teaching staff, a district representative, and parent, community, and business members.
We are in need of one business member and one community member to join our committee for the 23-24 school year.

Free and Reduced applications for 2023-2024 will be available beginning July 10, 2023.
Starting on July 10, 2023, applications will be available to fill out for the 2023-2024 school year. Families are encouraged to complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals available online at www.schoollunchapp.com. A paper copy may be downloaded from the website or requested at any campus or Nutrition Services office.
The application will determine a child’s eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and may assist in the determination of eligibility for other state or federal benefits. Only one application needs to be completed per household. Schools will notify the household of the child’s eligibility.
