Total Solar Eclipse - April 8, 2024 On April 8, 2024, there will be a rare and captivating astronomical phenomenon—a total solar eclipse of the sun in the North Texas area! GCISD, in partnership with the Perot Museum, is equipping all students and staff with a pair of ISO certified safety glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse. Each campus in GCISD will offer engaging solar eclipse activities and experiences for students to enjoy. More details will be shared as we approach this remarkable event. College & Career Day Presenters Needed We are looking for volunteers to present at our College & Career Day for our students Pre-K - 5th grade on Monday, May 13. Please pass the following information along to any friends or family members who you think would be a good fit! Our hope is for students to gain knowledge about possible careers/jobs and the college and/or experiences required to obtain these professions. We would love for you to bring any activities, demonstrations, hands-on materials, or pictures that will help the students better understand your job/career. This information can be found below. Volunteer Background Check Welcome to the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. We sincerely appreciate the investment of your time as a volunteer. For the protection of students and staff, all volunteer applicants must read the Volunteer Handbook (in Español) and are asked to apply online authorizing the district to obtain a criminal history background check. Please allow 1-2 weeks for this process to be completed. Once you are an approved volunteer, our campus will be notified. Note: All volunteers are required to reapply each year.

GCISD Transportation Services Department uses the Secured Mobility Authorized Ridership Technology (SMART) tag system to support student safety by providing accurate, real-time updates for students riding the bus. Thursday, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day! At Dove Elementary, we are going to Rock Our Socks and wear fun and unique socks in support of individuals who have an extra chromosome.

Last night, the first community bond presentation was held at Colleyville Middle School. Community members joined us to learn more about the 2024 GCISD Bond planning process, propositions and tax rate impact. Are you ready to learn more? What a SUPER DAY at Dove! Batman stopped by to talk to our students about being Super every day. Students were honored for Honesty and 5th Grade was rewarded for having the highest attendance in February!
